Every year between the start of March to the middle of April, beautiful blossoms return to the west side of Birmingham at Brindley Place.

Oozells Square.

Alongside the stunning blossoms, visitors can also enjoy a variety of local events and activities hosted in the area during this period. From art installations and live music performances to outdoor markets and seasonal food stalls, Oozells Square transforms into a vibrant hub of culture and community, making it an ideal destination for a springtime outing.

In February 2023, some of the Cherry Blossom trees in the Oozells Square were replaced with new varieties known as East Asian Cherry and Pink Perfection. These types of trees are very common in areas of China, Japan, and also Korea. Their vibrant blooms and delicate petals make them a symbol of renewal and beauty, drawing admiration from people around the world. Additionally, these new Cherry Blossom trees were chosen not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their ability to thrive in urban environments. East Asian Cherry and Pink Perfection trees are known for their resilience and adaptability, making them an excellent choice for enhancing cityscapes while ensuring longevity and sustainability. Their blossoms not only create stunning seasonal displays but also contribute to fostering a tranquil and inviting atmosphere for visitors to Oozells Square.

A new project is set to launch in Birmingham to transport neighborhood's and  community's with over 300 Blossom trees to engage and learn more about nature across the city. This is part of National Trusts countrywide campaign started in 2021. In addition to the tree planting initiative, the project will also host a series of community workshops and educational events aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of biodiversity and environmental conservation. These events will provide residents with hands-on opportunities to learn about the importance of trees in combating climate change, improving air quality, and enhancing mental well-being, ensuring that the campaign leaves a lasting impact on the community.

The square gets full of visitors all keen to capture the stunning moment on their phones and cameras. Beyond just photography, the square offers a truly immersive experience with its vibrant atmosphere. Street performers, local artists, and musicians often gather here, adding a lively charm to the setting. Visitors can enjoy the unique blend of entertainment while soaking in the history and culture that the square so beautifully represents. It's a place where every corner has a story to tell, making it an unforgettable destination for travelers and locals alike.
